On Sunday, various members of the royal family stepped out to attend Easter services with the queen, including Kate Middleton and Prince William. (Prince Harry was also there, but without his wife, Meghan Markle, who is due to give birth to their first child any day now.)
The Duchess of Cambridge looked stunning (as usual) in a pale blue coat and dress with a gray fascinator. She also added an extra special accessory: The earrings she wore when she married William in 2011. The jewels are custom Robinson Pelham and were a gift from her parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, according to The Court Jeweller and are "diamond-set stylized oak leaves with a pear-shaped diamond set drop and a pavГ© set diamond acorn suspended in the center." They were designed to match the Cartier Halo tiara that Middleton wore when she walked down the aisle.
Middleton's decision to wear her earrings for Easter may have been about more than just looking nice with her outfit. Lately, unfounded rumors have been circulating in the tabloids about a possible affair between Prince William and a woman in their social set. Perhaps her choice was meant to be a subtle statement about her marriage and a thumb of the nose at the recent stories.
But the duchess also just loves a rewear and often recycles her designer outfits for royal engagements, which is one of the most relatable things about her. And listen, if you have jewelry that beautiful (and sentimentally special), you'd want to wear it as often as possible. Her sister-in-law, the Duchess of Sussex, is often spotted in the shoes she wore for her engagement announcement, as well as her wedding jewelry.
Royals, they're just like us (occasionally.)
